From Coho's to Lake Trout
What a great weekend of trolling on the big pond. Saturday Lenny and I got into a few Chinooks and coho's with one of the Chins being a 14lber. Sunday I decided to run up to Milwaukee to get in on the coho action with Brittany and despite a slow start we ended up sticking 6 of them. Monday I brought a fellow Raven Tackle Pro Staffer out for his first trip of the year and after sticking a beautiful 10lb brown, Jarrett landed a smaller coho. While working out to deeper water and two drive byes, Jarrett said he had never caught a lake trout. Well that was about to change. I sent out one of my new trash can dodgers from Anglers Avenue and it didn't take but 5mins to tie into a hefty 14lber. Once I had the dipsy reset it was only another 5mins until a tank laker decided to come play. After a 10min fight Jarrett put the biggest laker year to date in the boat, tipping the scale at 18lbs. I spent 15mins holding it along side the boat and successfully revived it. We picked up another two lakers and decided to call it a day.
